Individual student grades can be posted for each class via a website hosted by a company called “Basmati”.
The fee is being paid for by the administration and ASB.
The CHS Basmati account administrator will set up your account with Basmati.
You will be given a fictitious email account @carlsbadhigh.com along with a password.
The email account will not actually work, but the data is needed for step A below.
One time only, you will need to SAVE the Basmati “filter” into the proper folder: C:/GMWIN68/Filters

A) Setting up each of your classes…this is only done ONCE PER NEW CLASS (period).
*** This system will use each student’s ID number from Grade Machine.
If you did not enter a student ID, do this before continuing.
Basmati uses the student ID plus its own randomly-generated password for student login security.
You will need your course code and section number from an official roll sheet.
Open the class in Grade Machine.
1) Go to the “Class” menu and choose “Class Information”
2) Enter the information as follows:
a) Course Code: from your official roll sheet b) Course Name: as you want it to appear
c) Grade level ` d) Period e) Section Number: from your official roll sheet
f) Teacher ID: this is your email password from @carlsbadhigh.com (lower case)
g) Teacher Name: Mr/Ms etc. h) Terms: leave blank
i) Misc 1: use the email address @carlsbadhigh.com that was created for you.
True, there is no such email, but Basmati is still set to recognize this domain address.
j) Misc 2 and 3: leave blank
Hit the “OK” button

1) You must create an Export File for each class you want to post, each time you want to post it.
In Grade Machine, select FILE, EXPORT.
An Export To box should have a Basmati option...hit OKAY.
If this is the first time you are saving a class, give it a logical name (webperiod5) and save it in the same
folder as your grades. On subsequent saves, it will know what name to use and where to go.
You are done with this class…you can Export another class or exit grade machine.
2) Go to the web site for FACULTY and log in at: http://faculty.carlsbadhigh.com/faculty.htm
Use the option to Submit a class.
Browse
to the folder where you saved the Export file. Hit Submit
3) Don’t forget to LOG OUT when done!

C) Getting the passwords to the students
While you are logged in, use the option to Show Current Classes.
Select a class and view all of the class data…a list of student ID and Basmati-generated passwords will be shown.
Print out two copies: cut one into strips and distribute to your students and keep one for your records, as many students will forget their info.

There are 3 options for Carlsbad High listed…use the first (top) button.
They can click the green “View Grade Book” icon for detailed grade information.
